About The legacy
– A Living Journey of Classical Dance & Culture
🕊️ Our Legacy – Since 1983
Nrutyangan Kathak Academy was established in 1983 by Late Mrs. Suhasini Botla, a dedicated Kathak dancer, teacher, and cultural visionary. With a strong belief in the power of classical Indian art forms to shape character and convey deep emotion, she founded the academy with a simple mission — to bring the discipline and beauty of Kathak into the lives of every aspiring student, regardless of age or background.
What began as a small group of learners has now flourished into one of Pune’s most respected Kathak institutions, carrying forward the timeless tradition of storytelling through rhythm, expression, and grace. The legacy of Suhasini Tai continues to inspire generations of artists and cultural enthusiasts.
Our Mission is to preserve and promote the rich heritage of Kathak while empowering students with confidence, creativity, and cultural awareness. We strive to provide an inclusive and inspiring environment where students can connect with their roots while embracing the art form with passion and dedication.
Our Vision is to be a leading cultural institution that imparts holistic Kathak education through disciplined training, meaningful performances, and heartfelt passion. We aim to nurture the next generation of Kathak dancers who will carry forward the soul of this ancient tradition and inspire others to embrace its beauty and grace.
“The Art of Storytelling Through Dance”
Every step in Kathak is a blend of rhythm, expression, and timeless tradition — captured in every performance at Nrutyangan Kathak Academy.
